Prepping for departure
Soon snow will be in the mountains. Time to leave Alaska and get across the Canadian Rockies before there is snow on the road. The question is, can we??? The Canadian border closing has been extended for another month. Jody and I are traveling together for safety so we both want to be able to transit through as quickly as possible. We hope the border agents gods will be looking down on us and let us pass. We totally respect and appreciate the rules that Canada has put into place because of the ugly Americans who didn’t follow the rules causing Canadians to understandably not want us in. Crossing fingers they will let this self-contained “little ole lady” pass.
I’ve had my 60k mile check, tires rotated, new battery installed, house heater checked, swapped out clothes, suitcases shoved in for whenever I can go out on my next MSF mission, stocked my fridge & pantry, final visits with friends.
I have documents showing a Best Western RV Park reservation for 4 days after we cross the border, contingent offers for work, my MSF ID card, a negative covid test, mask/gloves. Crossing fingers!! Leaving tomorrow! Hoping for the best….. Stay tuned…..
