Ft. Collins: Visiting an old friend…

The day before summer solstice Gina ended her quick jaunt with me on my maiden journey. I dropped her in Denver and continued on to Ft. Collins to spend a few days with Brenda.  Hate having to give dear friends virtual hugs because of covid but grateful to spend time with her again even at a 6’ distance. She has the van bug also so we went to Van Works, one of the granddaddy builders to see if they had an awning, ladder and insect nets. Have quickly discovered I need these! They had none but it was great to spend time with them van shopping for Brenda and comparing build outs.  They are great folks. Highly recommend checking them out. Thrilled to also get kudos for our van build! Said we are one of the better DIY van they had seen! And they have seen a lot.

We ate dinner out, window shopped, caught up on each other's lives, had great food,  kept our social distancing, and last day took a leisurely bike ride on one of the many bike trails in Ft. Collins along the river with a stop for lunch. Old friends are just the best. My first real respite. And kept pinching myself that I'm really a van lifer now!
